More About My Screenwriting Project™

Improving Quality and Efficiency

My Screenwriting Project™ is designed as a performance support tool. That's business jargon for something that improves the quality and efficiency of one's work. Dave Trottier's Dr. Format™ Screenwriting Software and Final Draft are two good examples of performance support tools for drafting, editing and printing scripts. They're great! They really improve the quality and efficiency of script formatting.

But there's a lot more that goes on before one even begins drafting a script, as any reader of The Screenwriter's Bible™ can attest. And that's where My Screenwriting Project™ comes in. It's  designed to improve the quality and efficiency of all those preparatory and ongoing information management tasks, like:

  • getting your basic thoughts and ideas on your screenplay together, edited and reordered;

  • developing and organizing your ideas about your characters, their personality, needs, motives, allies and opponents, strengths, weakness, etc.;

  • producing, revising and reordering and printing scene lists, step outlines and cards;

  • producing and revising character and action grids and character arcs;

  • organizing, documenting, revising , retrieving and printing notes and other information on plot, characters, action, dialog, subtext, backstory, turning points, research findings, story and character issues, and much more.

That's a lot of information to create, manage and use. My Screenwriting Project™ supports you in performing all these tasks.  Just as Dr Format is built on the power of MS Word word processing capabilities, My Screenwriting Project™ is built on the power of MS Access database capabilities.

Pricing & Versions

The Screenwriter's Bible (4th Edition) retails for $22.95 (plus shipping and/or tax). Accordingly, My Screenwriting Project™  costs just $20* for a single, personal version (and even less for educational users). The price is low (as software goes) because:

  • it will be available for download over the internet;

  • the downloaded version will be in trial mode but can be activated to a full, unlimited personal version by installing a software license;

  • the license can be paid for, issued and registered, automatically, over the internet;

  • there are many potential users, people who already own The Screenwriter's Bible or who will buy the book; and

  • I don't  need to ask a higher price, since I'm  retired--but not rich.

As a retired educator--and that's why I'm not rich--I am well aware of the fiscal constraints with which faculty and students must cope. I want to make My Screenwriting Project™ very affordable.

For those who teach screenwriting and want their students to have the benefits of My Screenwriting Project™ a 15-user educational license is only $90 ( $6 per user) and a 30-user license is $150 ( $5 per user). The educational license key disables the advanced, 'Export' options.

Students use the software with the instructor's educational license. Those students who want a fully functional, personal version can upgrade to a personal license for $10.

Now if you haven't taken a look at some of My Screenwriting Project™'s features, why not do it, now?
